a strange double bill

i have been meaning to watch 'rocco and his brothers' for a long time. cuneyt is a great partner for movies. he came for a short breakfast, but we ended up watching not only the three hour visconti film, but also hawks' 'bringing up baby' to neutralize the after-taste of the first. the conclusion was: we are just not visconti people. all that grandoise, the epic story-telling, and the hysteria, is just too much (or i'd rather take it from sirk or ophuls) well, that said, i think i would give it another chance on the big screen. coupling irrelevant films; this is what we do on thursdays, from today on, hopefully.
